Franken-Chapters 9-10

1. What happens to Victor after Justine is put to death? What is his father’s opinion ofVictor’s “immoderate grief”?
That he ought not be sad, it was not his fault that se died.
2. What keeps Victor from killing himself?
The thought of revenge against the monster.
3. What effect have these events had on Elizabeth?
She feels horrible, she does not want to do anything, nothing can cheer her up.
4. What makes Victor go to Charmounix?
The need to be alone, he doesn't want any human contact.
5. Explain: “I was a wreck—but nought had changed in those savage and enduringscenes.” (Pg. 78)
He has sortof gotten over the enents, because of the need want to kill the monster.
6. As Victor climbs the mountains, what effect do they have on him?
He feels happy, and alone.
7. Why does Victor climb Montanvent in spite of the rain?
He just needs to get to the top!
8. What are Victor’s feelings as his creation approaches him? What is the first thing hesays to his creature?
He feels enraged, and wants to kill him.
9. Describe the expression on the creature’s face.
Pain and suffering, he could not believe his creator would want to kill him.
10. How does the creature respond to Victor?
Basically "Kill me if you wish, you have already killed my soul by leaving"
11. With what does the creature threaten Victor?
That he would be killing his Adam, his creation.
12. What does the creature say about his present position?
That Victor should listen to what he has to say before he decides to kill him.
13. For what reason does Victor follow the creature and listen to his story?
He begins to feel sorry for the monster.
